5 Ways You Can Make a Difference in the Lives of Military Families Today

By Jorge Morales | The Rinaldi Project

Service Doesn’t Stop with the Uniform

Every October, we observe the National Day of the Deployed—a moment to recognize those currently serving abroad. But it’s also a time to reflect on the families left behind, holding down the homefront with strength and quiet resilience.

At The Rinaldi Project, we believe supporting military families shouldn’t just happen during deployment. It should happen every day.

If you’ve ever wondered how you can help—whether as an individual, business, or organization—here are five powerful ways to make a meaningful impact right now.

1. Sponsor a Veteran’s Full Journey

Our 5-phase support model provides everything from mental health care to career certification and long-term mentorship. A one-time donation of $6,900 fully funds one veteran’s transformation.

Want to do more? Split the sponsorship with friends or coworkers and fund a veteran together.

2. Donate Monthly to Sustain Critical Services

Even $25 a month helps us provide:

  • Ongoing therapy sessions

  • Financial coaching for spouses

  • Child care stipends

  • Resume and career prep

Your monthly support creates stability for the families we serve—and for our ability to serve them.

3. Become a Volunteer or Mentor

Have a professional background in HR, tech, healthcare, education, or finance? Use your experience to:

  • Review résumés

  • Conduct mock interviews

  • Mentor a transitioning veteran

  • Lead a virtual workshop

Volunteering your time = changing a life.

4. Spread the Word on Social Media

Sometimes awareness is just as valuable as dollars. Follow us on your favorite platforms and:

  • Share our blog posts and impact stories

  • Use hashtags like #SupportMilitaryFamilies and #RinaldiProject

  • Tag a veteran or military spouse you admire

Your voice helps us reach more people who care.

5. Engage Your Company or Organization

You can be the spark that brings your team into the mission:

  • Suggest a corporate sponsorship

  • Organize a fundraiser or service day

  • Invite us to speak at your next team event

  • Align your CSR strategy with veteran impact

Our business partners experience stronger employee morale and brand reputation when they give back meaningfully.

A Veteran’s Words

“When someone gives to The Rinaldi Project, they’re not just helping me—they’re helping my wife, my kids, and the future we’re building together.”

Darius, U.S. Marine Corps Veteran
