September 11: Remembering together, caring for one another
Dear TRP community,
Twenty-five years ago, September 11 changed our nation and the lives of families around the world. Today, we remember those killed in New York, at the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93. We hold their loved ones in our thoughts and honor the responders, recovery workers, and survivors who continue to live with the consequences of that day.
For many in the military community, this anniversary also brings memories of service, deployments, sacrifice, and people deeply missed. Each person carries those memories differently. There is room here for grief, reflection, and quiet.
I believe America's strength is sustained by the responsibility we accept for one another. In the aftermath of September 11, acts of courage and compassion showed what that responsibility can look like. We can continue to make those choices in our own communities.
At The Rinaldi Project, our purpose is to help veterans and military families build what comes next. That work begins with listening and treating each person's goals and circumstances with care.
Today, I invite you to reach out to someone who may appreciate a conversation. Ask how they are doing, give them time to answer, and listen without expecting them to share more than they want to. A small act of care can help someone feel less alone.
Our country holds many backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences. We share the responsibility to treat one another with dignity and help our communities thrive.
May we honor those we lost by carrying that responsibility forward, today and throughout the year.
With gratitude,
Rinaldi Domingo
