From Combat Boots to Career Suits: Helping Veterans Transition with Confidence

Honoring Armed Forces Day – May 20

Each year on May 20, we pause as a nation to celebrate Armed Forces Day—a moment dedicated to honoring the bravery, sacrifice, and commitment of those currently serving in our U.S. military. At The Rinaldi Project, every day is an opportunity to recognize that same dedication—on the battlefield, in transition, and throughout civilian life.

As we salute our active duty service members this Armed Forces Day, we also turn our focus to the next chapter of their journey—what happens after the uniform comes off. Because honoring their service means more than a thank-you. It means building systems of support that help them thrive long after their last salute.

The Hidden Struggles of Transitioning Veterans

Veterans bring unmatched strengths to the workforce: leadership under pressure, discipline, adaptability, and a deep commitment to mission success. Yet, many struggle to find meaningful employment after their service ends.

  • Translation Gap: Military experience doesn’t always match civilian job descriptions. Veterans often struggle to articulate their value in a résumé or interview.

  • Certifications & Requirements: Many have high-level technical skills but lack the civilian certifications employers expect.

  • Limited Civilian Networks: Most don’t leave the military with an established civilian career network or mentors to guide them.

These barriers don’t reflect a lack of talent—they reflect a lack of transition support. That’s where we step in.

How The Rinaldi Project Helps

At The Rinaldi Project, we believe honoring a veteran means investing in their future. Our programs are designed to meet veterans where they are and walk with them as they find a new path forward.

Here’s what we offer:

  • 🧭 1-on-1 Career Coaching

  • 💼 Resume & LinkedIn Development

  • 🎯 Mock Interviews & Confidence Coaching

  • 🔗 Connections to Veteran-Ready Employers

Each of these services is built to empower veterans with the tools, language, and confidence they need to succeed after service.

A Community That Believes in Their Potential

The transition out of uniform isn’t something any veteran should have to navigate alone. That’s why we’ve built a community-first model—connecting veterans not only to services, but to people who care. People who understand. People who’ve walked the same road.

We also work directly with spouses and families who are critical to a veteran’s reintegration journey. From career coaching to wellness resources, we ensure every military family is seen and supported.

What You Can Do This Armed Forces Day

On May 20, we encourage you to celebrate Armed Forces Day by doing more than raising a flag—raise your hand in support.
